Went to school early in the morning to do my checkout at PGP. The process was very smooth. The staffs at the management office are so nice that I, for a short while, didn’t really want to leave the place at all. But I guess we’ve all got to move on with life. The 5 months at PGP has been a great time, even though there were some really horrible period scattered somewhere in between. But overall it has been good. I know I’ll miss all the people at PGP in one way or another, and I’m grateful that I’ve been able to spend that few months there. Whatever it is, thanks for the memories. It’s something that I’m not likely to forget in a hurry.
The rest of the day was basically spent travelling around Singapore. I went over to the Valuair office in Toa Payoh because I was fed up that I could never get to speak to the people at their call centre. I went down trying to find out if I can get my trip extended. The lady at the counter was a pretty one, but that’s all the good things that I can say about her. She doesn’t seem to be that interested in talking to me at all. In any case I found out that given that this is the peak period, it’s not really possible to get a place on any of the flights in the subsequent days. I left Valuair pondering what’s my next course of action.
Dropped by Peninsula Hotel Shopping Mall to get 2 pairs of Stussy jeans for my trips (HK and Shanghai). Initally I only wanted to buy a pair, but somehow the shopkeeper managed to persuade me into buying 2. Oh well, I needed the extra pair anyway so it’s OK. But then again I spent $60 more – I need to start learning to be not so easily talked into buying something that I have no intention of buying in the first place.
Went back to school and dropped by the NOC office to get some documents. Come to think about it, after seeing Poh Min and Angel today before going to Hong Kong, the next time I see them would be immediately after I come back from Hong Kong. Haha.
And then I made the most important decision of the day – I’ve decided to forsake the return portion of my Valuair ticket and opted to get JetstarAsia’s offer. Well, think about it… I have to pay 500 HKD to get my trip extended if I stay on Valuair, and I don’t even get a seat on that. But if I take the JetstarAsia’s offer, I only need to pay 445 HKD, plus I get to stay in Hong Kong for 4 days more. Of course I’ll spend more money by staying longer, but considering that the next time I’ll be there would be at earliest 2006, this is no contest really.
So at things stand, my trip will be from 9 Dec to 19 Dec. Still not enough to stretch into Christmas, but then again, 11 days in Hong Kong is really good enough. But the thing is because my laptop is still in ICU and not likely to be discharged soon, I’ll most likely be without a computer for this period of time. I’ll try my best to find some cybercafes or free internet access somewhere to update my little journal. So if I don’t get to be online for this period, don’t miss me too much. I’ll be back before you even know it. That said, my next update might be from the departure hall in Changi Airport in about 13 hours’ time (read this if you don’t understand why).
Need to pack my luggage as well. It’s getting cold in Hong Kong apparently.
Enjoy the holidays.
