Finally the whole farce is over. We’ve got our visas done, and getting to know a few nice Shanghai police officers in the process. People who still have the perception that Chinese officers are fierce, cold and unfriendly should start to change their opinions – the few officers we met today really put a lot of Singaporean ones to shame. And mind you, they were the ones who voluntarily reduced the fine for us (to an extent) and we never even have to do anything more (if you get what I mean). I really think that the NOC admin can take a lesson or two in dealing with Chinese authorities.
Now that the resident’s permit is done up, most of the admin work for me in Shanghai is about done. So I guess I can finally concentrate back on work and studies. Lessons so far have been interesting and I think I’m enjoying myself in school very much. The whole Fudan campus is just so made for studying that I’ve added it to my list of future Masters destinations. Haha.
Weekend is coming and yet I haven’t really done anything constructive this week. Would be a good idea to make a decent effort tomorrow.
