Free day.

Finally for a long long time, I managed to stay at home on a free day. That said, it definitely wasn’t a very free day for me even when I’m at home. Did quite a bit of admin work for my sister’s tuition fee grant application. The crazy thing about the whole deal is that in Hong Kong, in order to get a tuition fee grant, you have to submit a whole truckload of documents for the authorities to look at, and there’s no guarantee that you’ll get it. So for whatever that you don’t get, you apply for a loan on top of that to complete the entire sum of money. It’s quite amazing to think that on the one hand they are making university studies more available to people, and at the same time come out with such crazy administrative things for people. Sometimes you really wonder what’s going on in the minds of those people in the Hong Kong education service.

Having another long day tomorrow. Boy do I not like Wednesdays.

Dad is back from Cambodia for a week. Do I not like that too.

OK, off to do more preparation for my HYP experiment. It’s times like these that I wish I have someone by my side to support me. Oh well, sometimes certain things just can’t be rushed. But when Dad starts asking about that, things certainly do not seem to be good. Ah whatever.

French.

Sometimes I would tend to regret the decision in taking French this semester. Some of you may have heard me moan about my French class, and to this date I’m still keeping my opinion on the class. It would perhaps be wrong to say that I don’t enjoy learning French because learning languages is a fun thing for me, but what I cannot stand is other things. Overall I think the learning experience for the language is good, but I could definitely make do without some of the rubbish that I encounter in class.

Imported all my pictures from my Fujitsu into my iPhoto. I didn’t know I’ve snapped almost 2500 pictures for the past 21 months or so. I was going through the pictures and there were really a lot of mixed feelings, but the picture that I think I enjoyed the most has to be this one:

Taken outside LT27 on my birthday…

If you ask me, this may not be the best-taken picture, but in my opinion I think I enjoy this picture the most. I think for the 2500+ pictures that I have, very few would probably be comparable to the degree that I enjoy this one. That said, I’m not entirely sure if everyone in the picture is happy to have appeared inside there…

As to why this picture is the one that I enjoy the most… I think there are a few reasons. One of them is obviously because of the fact that the picture was taken on my birthday (which I definitely did not planned for until Neng Giin turned up with a cake), and it was taken with the people in the FOCC Team this year. Then there are some more personal reasons, so if you are keen to find out, drop me a message at the usual email address. Haha.

Without me knowing I’m flying off to Hong Kong this Friday. Anyone with any shopping list?

I think I’m falling in love with the MacBook, and I definitely think I’ll get one for my sister when I get my first pay (hopefully that will be in either January or February).
