Realisation.

I think sometimes it’s really when you need others’ help that you know who you can depend and who you can’t. There are some who claim to be there for you, but when you really need them they would give you all sorts of reasons and say they don’t want to help. Oh well, welcome to the real world.

Two more days of rest before starting work on Tuesday.

One Month.

Time sure flies – I’m back in Hong Kong for a month already. 31 days zoomed past and it was a very exciting month for me. In this month, I…

1. subscribed to broadband Internet access together with broadband TV, so I can write my journal at my own time and leisure.

2. hosted a few friends who were in town, and at the same time got to know more new friends.

3. took the Ngong Ping 360 cable car.

4. went to the Peak for the (n+1)th time.

5. turned Lantau into my second home after going to the airport to send people off and see people come in. Not to mention the visit to Cathay City, the Cathay Pacific headquarters.

6. bought a new TV.

7. sent in about 20 resumes, getting 3 interviews in the process.

8. am starting work next Tuesday at IVE as a teaching assistant.

Actually I was offered yesterday, but surprisingly I was very calm about it when they called me up to offer me the post. Whatever it is, I’m getting employed finally! I don’t know what is going to happen, but I sure hope everything’s going to be fine for me. The pay is pretty good, but I just hope that the experience would be useful. Even though it’s a temporary position until August, I’m still glad that I’m being offered because honestly speaking I thought I might not be the best candidate for the job. Being away from Hong Kong for so long I actually don’t really have a good idea on how lessons are being conducted in Hong Kong. But I guess the more experienced teachers and lecturers at IVE would show me the way when I’m there next week. So after going to Cheung Sha Wan once in 26 years, I’m going to be there everyday for the next 6 months!
