Work.

After having the weekend off, I was back in work today and it was quite OK, even though there are still things that I’ve not really completed – I’d get them done tomorrow.

I’ve confirmed my trip to Shanghai already, and I’ll be flying off on Friday. I haven’t exactly planned what I’m going to do there, but I know I’ll want to go Nanjing this time round. I spent one year in Shanghai in 2005, I went to Hangzhou 15 times but I’ve never been to Nanjing. I’m not going to miss Nanjing this time round. Especially now that they have that high speed rail, I think I really want to go try and see how it’s like. I may even want to stay for a night over there.

I’ll see if I can put in a day in Suzhou as well. Sometimes it’s quite amazing to think that I didn’t go to all these nearby places when I stayed in Shanghai for so long. And yup – for those who are in Shanghai and are keen for a meal or something, I’ll be there for until Tuesday.

Holidays.

Not that I’m having a holiday right now, but my mind is constantly wandering off to somewhere as if it’s already a holiday break for me.

With my speech contest now over (with the exception of the evaluation report, of course), my next project would probably need to kick off by next week, so I think it might still be OK for me to be thinking about where I want to be heading to in the next couple of weeks.

One of the destinations that I’ve more or less confirmed about going will be Taichung. I’ll be there with my sister, with the primary aim of watching the Mayday concert there. Call us crazy if you want, but I think flying over to Taiwan to watch Mayday concerts is so much easier to achieve here in Hong Kong. If I were still in Singapore I’d probably wouldn’t have bothered that much if the concerts are in Taiwan. But since Hong Kong is like an hour’s flight away from Taiwan, it would make much more logical sense to head there compared to travelling from Singapore. I’d most likely be in Taichung on 17th May and would probably return to Hong Kong on 19th.

Then the next destination that I was thinking about going is Shanghai. It would be nice to go there again, since the last time I was already 2 years ago. The people have changed, and I’m sure the place had as well, so it would be fun to go take a look. If the plan works out, I should be there this Friday until next Tuesday. It’s weird though that I haven’t even got the tickets ready when I’m talking about going there this week. Mad but true.

Then Chris was telling me yesterday evening that there’s a trip to Beijing that she might not be able to go, but was saying that it would be interesting. I won’t mind joining that one as well, depending on the cost. After all, with the Olympics due to start in a couple of months’ time, it would be interesting to see how Beijing is preparing for the occasion. I’d most likely not be able to be in Beijing in August, so if I can make it for this trip, then I’d be in Beijing from 18th to 20th April. This trip, however, is the least likely of the three. I’ll see how things turn out.

I slept quite a fair bit today, and I’m not feeling entirely sleepy now. Though I think I can still do with some concussion on my bed. It’s crazily foggy out there and I can’t see the buildings across the other side. That should mean that it’s spring!
