I went to watch Kung Fu Panda just now in the evening with Cherie and I think it has to be one of the best movies that I’ve seen this year so far! It was just a whole lot of laughing, and yet at the same time some nice points to think about too. We watched the Cantonese version which featured the voices of people like Eason Chan and I thought that was quite a nice stroke. Some of the dialogues really came to life with the Cantonese dubbing, and I especially like the part when the Turtle Master was telling Shifu (or was it Po the Panda?):
「尋日過咗去 聽日話知佢 今朝有酒今朝醉」
(literally meaning: Yesterday? It’s over. Tomorrow? Who cares. Most important is to live for today – I’m quite sure the English version featuring Jack Black would be quite different here)
I thought this phrase really made sense – we don’t really need to dwell on what’s in the past, and we don’t really know what’s going to happen to us in the future. Most importantly is “now”, because that’s what we are living in!
Got a few hours’ of work tomorrow. It’s been a long time since I last have to go to office on a Saturday non-voluntarily, really.
And Initial D for the PS3 is apparently out and available now!
