Beijing.

Spent the past couple of days on my second trip out of Hong Kong in a month. As previously mentioned, I was in Beijing to watch the Mayday concert, which was being held in the Bird Nest Stadium. I think the place is quite massive, and the concert was great as well. Just one slight disappointment – I wasn’t seated in front of the stage!

Anyway I took the train up from Hong Kong to Beijing and did the same on the return trip. I thought travelling by train was actually kinda cool because it gave me an opportunity to really have some rest (which if I were to travel by plane I probably won’t be able to do so), and in fact I would say the past 5 days were the best rest I had for a long time! I was really doing everything at a leisure pace, not much sightseeing to do (considering that I’ve been to Beijing quite a few times already), not much shopping to do, and the only part that I needed to be squeezing with people were on the Beijing subway. Also I had a friend who was accompanying me throughout, which means that it was always nice to have someone to talk to. I also managed to meet some very interesting people on the train and had so much fun talking to them – I would say that this trip to Beijing has to be my best trip for quite some time, even though I spent like 2 days on the train out of 5 days of the holiday.

For the next few weeks I expect myself to be pressing full-steam ahead because of all the work that I have to be doing, but I know I can do all this through him who gives me strength (Philippians 4:13). It’s going to be tiring, but hey, this is what life is all about, isn’t it? It’s all about “believe”!
